PCL TEAR
The knee joint contains bones (Femur, Tibia, Fibula, Patella), ligaments(MCL, LCL, ACL, and PCL), and cartilage (Medial Meniscus, Lateral Meniscus). As well as the Patella tendon. There are two articulations (joints) between the femur & patella and the femur & tibia. The ligaments of the knee joint provide stability and limit excessive movement.
- The anterior cruciate ligament prevents the femur from sliding backward on the tibia.
- The posterior cruciate ligament prevents the femur from sliding forward on the tibia.
- The medial and lateral collateral ligaments prevent the femur from sliding side to side.
Muscles of the knee include (but arent limited to ) the Sartorius, Quadriceps, and Hamstrings.
